| Repacking the airstrip |
The stay at home day has lots of little jobs ..... Bryan packed the air strip once again and shuck off all the snow off the spruce branch markers.
Then Bryan cleaned the chinney of the cabin wood stove. It was not until he was well into packing the squirrels that he said to Vikki.... Oh I fell off the ladder today.... You did what!!!!
Seems like Bryan was carrying the cleaned out stove cap up the ladder and moving quite quickly which is normal and as he reached for the top ladder rung.... well his hand missed it and all of a sudden he was going

He said next time he will remember to go a little slower.
Hopefully the Beaver is heading in here in the next few days.... We have a big bag of squirrels plus some wolves going out this trip. The next flight in will take out our Marten, etc.
We ship to both N.A.F.A. and Fur Harversters. Some years one is better than the other. It is always a gamble. We sell the wolves and most of the wolverine privately.

I always forget how big those things get!
ReplyDeletethose wolves are huge. what was the approx. weight? looks like the light is brighter now. is it warming up? seems to be getting more springlike down here. take care ken.vigilantone
ReplyDeleteBetter to fall in the soft snow in march than the hard ground of august.Take care Trappers :)
ReplyDeleteClearing the ladder is critical. On of my co-workers came down w/ each leg through a separate hole in the ladder and broke two legs...and the ladder.
ReplyDeleteToday I was at the top of a 10' step ladder with my chainsaw and thought 'why exactly am I doing this at my age?'.
Be careful.
Great job on the Squirrels!! those Wolves look very well put up.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your totals of animals for the year?
