Happy Groundhog Day everyone. Here on the lake it was cloudy so by the folklore surrounding Groundhog Day it will be a early Spring. We will wait and see. Sure been a mild winter here so far. Milder than what we used to see from way down near the border of Canada and US. Very strange.
Lea needs all your support. On Monday the people who are supporting Choices will really rally. So get Lea's points up today. www.deliverhope.ca/gallery/view/38

Three Lynx near Big White, BC
This year is a big year for Rabbits here. They are everywhere. In the 6 years we have been here this is the biggest year for Rabbit. Rabbit populations cycle in a 8 year span. Lynx populations cycle in a 8 year span. Their populations increase as the Rabbits increase. When the Rabbit population dies off the Lynx population decreases. Trappers are taught to go after Lynx towards the top of the cycle and leave them alone otherwise.

How to Build a Tree Stand for Hunting
First you have to make a sturdy ladder. See how the rungs are cut into the side poles. You will need ropes and pulleys also.
Then one side support is made and raised and nailed in place.
Then you have to make the next side support and clear room for it to be pulled up.
Position so that you are creating a triangle with the tree and the two side supports. Ropes are needed at the ends to move them in place. Two people are a must.
Make up planking and lay first the one closest to the tree and then one further out etc.
Put up side railing and a seat.
I bother to Post so you please Vote.... Push the red heart on the right and it will say Thank You

Trapper's Lament Poem by Bryan
It happened before, it happened in the past,
You can darn well bet it's going to last.
So get used to it, get used to it.
Gone are the greens, the yellows and the reds,
So sweep off the porch, and drag out the sleds.
So get used to it, get used to it.
You got caught with your pants way down.
Instead of making trail - you were playing in town.
So get used to it, get used to it.
Get out the shovel and put away the hoe.
The whole darn land is covered in snow.
So get used to it, get used to it.

Talking to Bryan on the SBX-11A
Bryan's said he made it okay, but with the 16" of fresh snow he had to unload the Toboggan twice up the steep hills and carry his supplies up to the top. He had dried the Toboggan well in his shop, applied a little Kerosene on the Teflon strips but with this snow it just helped a little.
He made it down to the big creek that flows into the Sutlahine. Said the major melt had done strange things down there. For every willow sticking out of the snow there was a 3 foot hole around it. He said lots of Marten tracks down by the Sutlahine, but he only got two up near Walkers'. Vikki reminded him that the trappers down south of us might fly in tomorrow in their Super Cub. Bryan said "I'll be back early in the morning."
You might be sick of it, but we need your help. If you can share in our journey you can share in the work. Please keep voting. www.deliverhope.ca/gallery/view/38
