Flight in cancelled

The de Havilland Beaver is still in it's new hanger in Atlin, all loaded with our supplies....but the weather is too poor to fly in today, so each day from now on we will call at 9:30 a.m. and give a weather update. It is not a problem except that Chris did some shopping for fresh veggies etc. The two little stores in Atlin are really good about taking our fresh produce back for credit. They know that safety comes first. Also Chris had to warm the motor up....and now has to keep waiting. But that is the way it goes out here. Coming in and going out is never on a schedule.
Because it is -2 today we are trying to get the outside gray water pipe unfrozen with small fires on the surface of the ground.

  1. hopefully the supplies will get to you soon.its hard to complain about getting out to the store when the weathers not great.its been pretty chilly here which is rare. supposed to hit the low30's f. and we may get some snow flurries. good luck with thawing the pipe.and getting your inside plumbing back on line. ken

  2. Hi Bryan&Vikki
How often do you get supplies flown in ,do you have to plan well in advance? I hope your fires work for you and that your goodies arrive soon :)Brian(:

  3. Hi Brian....usually we don't need a flight in til April when our friend Henri comes to visit for a week. But we've had a string of break downs. First the 3000 Honda Generator, then the water pump, then the 365 Huski and the 300 Tundra. All these parts etc and new generator are waiting to come out here. So I also ordered some fresh stuff to help fill the load. Chris will also bring in fuel barrels to make it the 1000 lbs he can bring in..... And by 5pm our water lines are working again. Great to have a shower and wash some clothes.
