Tracks in the snow..... the big Bull moose burst threw the bush across from our cabin... running ..... 75 feet behind two wolves pushed their way out of the snow onto the lake and starting following at a lope. They are parallel to the Moose track and heading him off. We followed the sign until it headed across the lake...
We were out all day long making trail and when we got home at dusk.... the tracks in the snow showed three more wolves had followed the first two and were tracking down the action...
hoping that the first two had keep that moose running. Once they can get a moose to run...it is their game.

Are the moose the only big prey species that are around the lake in the winter. do you have deer there in the winter or do they head out to places with more to graze on ?:)Brian(:
it is something to see that drama play out right at your front door.looking back at one of your earlier posts it does'nt look good for the moose. can those wolves take down a bull in his prime. that is a big animal. ken
