If there is no presence on our land there are some people who think it is up for grabs (like our Northwest Passage). We trap in a remote area of Northern B.C., CANADA, 100 km from the nearest road. We fly in by Beaver Bush Plane and stay here for long periods of time. We are caretakers of the land and this is how we live.
I love your pictures - and I do hope they educate people in Canada about the important work you are doing in Northern BC. Without people like you, all this richness would go unnoticed - or at best "discovered" by hunters from the south...
ReplyDeleteThank You!
Once heard that in Algonquin Park when the deer population was down wolves then tore apart beaver dens and took the beavers- the change was called "switching response".
ReplyDeleteHere the wolves go after anything that moves that they come across. Grouse, rabbit, moose, goat, bear and Salmon. There are no sheep here because of the terrain and the deep snow.
ReplyDeleteThank you Trudie for being out there teaching the worlds children.
