If there is no presence on our land there are some people who think it is up for grabs (like our Northwest Passage). We trap in a remote area of Northern B.C., CANADA, 100 km from the nearest road. We fly in by Beaver Bush Plane and stay here for long periods of time. We are caretakers of the land and this is how we live.

seeing a grizzly in the wild has got to be a awe inspiring site. dont want to run into one. we've got black bear down here and some of them get pretty large. i hear there are more reported black bear incidents . but thats probably because they overlap populated areas moreso. are you leaving the cabin for the summer this year. thanks ken
ReplyDeleteHi Ken and Leah...Black Bears are all different. Some avoid you, some are more predatory. If you see one circling you at a distance you might look like prey. We are not flying out of here til the end of June this summer... will be wall tenting it, making trail. Then we are out til Sept 20 when Moose hunting starts. glad to hear from you.
