Fording a Small Stream
It's not a big stream but it was easier for Bryan to cut some small poles.... put them in so the water could keep running through them. He spaced them about 6 " apart. Henri shoveled both sides down.
The next morning all three of us left early. It was -15C and Vikki was worried about the base camp. Hannah was staying in the line cabin. Bee and Ishi were heading back to base camp with Vikki and Bryan. Henri just went half way and took a load of boxes back to the line cabin and he shoveled off the cabin roof. Bryan and Vikki made it back to base camp and then checked the Inklin Trail. Vikki's little Tundra 300 started to run real rough, and noisy. Bryan couldn't find a spare spark plug. Now the Inklin trail is like a roller caster with long steep drops. Bryan tied the rope and pulled the Tundra with Vikki steering and hanging on for dear life. It was not pleasant. We got it up the long drop with a lot of trouble. It was decided to put it off the trail so the moose could go by and leave it there. It is still there.

Apparently I have to read more or you have to be more descriptive because I had no idea what you were talking about or where you were talking about most of the time.
My father would have laid the branches across the stream added a bit of snow and been over in no time. Nice pictures though and I truly enjoyed them.
The explanation and pictures worked just fine for me! Sorry to hear about the 300. I hope you're able to retrieve it and get it running soon.
I use this method for my ATV. It prevents flooding later on.
Good luck with the 300!
Hi Becky...glad to hear from you. We are exploring a remote area of Coastal BC 100 miles from the coast.
We had to make something that did not stop the flow of water. Laying branches and snow would create a block and then you have an ice bridge
with water flowing on each side.
Michael and Evan... we have extra spark plug here at base camp. More are coming in the mail. Hopefully that is what the problem is.
