-7 Celsius or 22 F............ yesterday another foot of fresh snow fell and so Bryan used the 550 Long Track to break the trail up to the first Beaver Ponds. He left his chainsaw up there to be picked up today on his way by.
Bryan is packing up the Alaskan Mill, and stuff for finishing Windy Pond Line Cabin. He will install the new window, make a table and bunk beads, cupboards and kitchen area.
He drilled holes in the plywood and is wiring the plywood down onto the frame of "Miss Piggy" the Scandic SWT. These 3 pieces of precut plywood are to finish the floor and also one piece is for a table top.
The window is secured on top of the plywood.
Ishi is tied up because she will run after Bryan.... Nothing she likes better than the running behind the skidoo. The picture below is her heading out when she is allowed to go. But for this trip she is staying home.
Just after Bryan left at noon the snow storm started... Heavy accumulating snow.

I always wondered why you call your SWT Miss Piggy, now I know. You only have the 550 in your machine and mine has the 800 four stroke. It has lots of power and is really good on gas. 109km. to the cabin and my machine burns around 5 gal. of gas, that is pulling a fully loaded skimmer through powder snow.
You do have a lot of snow there!
Have you hear about the year old SBX calls?
A trapper in northern BC south of you heard a conversation he made on the SBX radio over a year earlier. He said he was so surprised that he started shivering- he needed hot coffee and a quilt to warm himself up.
Apparently its pretty rare but the radio signal may have gone deep into space and bounced back off a planet or meteor shower. Its incredibly rare but can happen. I can try and find the day the article was in the paper if you would find it interesting.
So you have 18"-24" on the ground now? That is good. Glad you haven't had the rain we've had. Poor little Ishi looks like she's saying, "But Mom,.....WHY?" Anonymous, please send us the link to that story.
No messing about Bryan&Vikki you just get the job done even with masses of snow. No snow here, guy's just wind and lots of damage take care trappers :)
That article about the SBX might have been published on April 1st.
