Frustrating Satellite Phones

If anyone knows how to get messages off a Satellite phone other than standing on the end of the wharf for 4 hours each day for a week let me know.  I have 22 new messages on this phone from the last time I checked it 2 months ago and it is as frustrating as it gets. First you have to wait for the signal which is about every 20 minutes for a satellite overhead.... then when you finally get thru to your message box it does not receive the button selection to go on to next message and erase last message.
Finally the voice will come on the sat phone saying try again later.
If there is someway to access messages ..... like by Skype or Internet let me know.

1. With your satellite phone off, try calling your satellite phone number with skype.
2. When the voice for your voicemail comes on, press "1". (Skype has a number pad. Sometimes it works on a call and sometimes it doesn't.)
3. Enter your password. If you don't know what it is, try "12345". Otherwise, call Globalstar and get one.
4. If you get in, it should tell you how to delete messages. If it's like most other messaging services, it'll use the number "7" to delete a message.
5. Let us know how it goes!

Hi there, Sorry to report... Globalstar are the worst in the Yukon and north as of a few years ago. They lost usage of a number of satellites and therefore you have to wait for their 2-3 sats to fly overhead. I had a few trips where I wanted to have connection with the outside world and had NONE. We moved to the Iridium phone. Rarely a wait and crystal clear reception.

Thank you Michael for being there for us. I will try this out shortly.

Hi Cathie.... we also have Irridium for calling out, but the Globalstar has our message box on it. I think I will try to get a phone number on Skype.
