THAT CABIN STILL NEEDS TO BE PUT AWAY FOR THE WINTER. WE ARE ALSO GOING TO WORK ON THE LAST KM OF TRAIL THAT WAS ROUGHLY PUT IN..... BECAUSE VIKKI HAD HAD ENOUGH OF WALL TENTING IT AND BEARS. BEE, ISHI , HANNAH AND US WILL GO UP TOGETHER. THE NEW CHICKENS ARE LOCKED UP TIGHT.
WE WILL BE BACK IN 4 DAYS OR SO. HOPEFULLY WE DON'T GET A DUMP OF SNOW ON US. BRYAN WOULD HAVE TO WALK THE 12 KMS BACK DOWN TO THE LAKE AND GET "MISS PIGGY" AND TOW THE GUADS OUT. WE ARE TAKING SNOWSHOES JUST ENCASE. WALKER'S VALLEY GETS LOTS OF SNOW. ONE YEAR ON SEPT 15 WE GOT A TWO FOOT DUMP OF SNOW HERE ON THE LAKE..... BUT IT LEFT QUICKLY. THIS YEAR THE SNOW HAS CREPT DOWN INTO THE TREE LINE ALREADY. WILL POST WHEN WE GET BACK.

Be bear beware. Up until a few years ago the last person at Glacier National Park who had a serious bear encounter was from my home town.
Winter is coming to MN soon, too, and I'm attempting to put things in their right places for winter. Often when our snow comes it's here until MAR or APR and it's now fun attempting to find something under the snow.
As always I've enjoyed your posts and just ordered "The Boreal Gourmet" base upon your review. I'm going to pick our rose hips this weekend. The peaches, pickles, jams, jellies and salsas have all been 'put by' in anticipation of winter enjoyment.
