We will make a trail around the basin next summer instead of down the ridge.
Bryan walked for 2 hours and came back and said those last 2 days trail ...no good. Where we were headed was for a BIG drop....he walked around the knob and found a route.... we took our skidoos back down the trail for 100metres and are headed down towards the creek.
Steve.....we did our time also. you are headed in the right direction...take your time and it will happen.

ReplyDeleteSteve....we have taken the Tundra 550 and the little 300 down.. the 550 has hold back but the little tundra flies....so little. We have ordered a winch for the 800 scandic.."miss Piggy" but even with that coming we are not going to take her down there...just too unknown what will happen... we will make another path next summer when we can move the earth.

Have only 3 weasels so far...but lots of tracks out there. have 3 wolverine now and a bunch of Marten. no lynx yet but again lots of tracks. They are just starting to grow their best spotted coat now.
ReplyDeleteYou will have to let me know what you get for a winch and how it works out, I was thinking about getting one for my sled. Warn makes a portable electric winch, I believe it is marketed as a snow winch. It comes in a heavy bag and is hooked up to the sled at either end by a nylon strap, possibly a handy thing. Is the one you ordered fixed?
ReplyDeletesteve....just ordered one from the Honda dealer at Whitehorse who has the skidoo dealership so don't know what is coming...Skidoo just says that there is a winch available for the 800. will let you know. we use the winch on our honda quad althe time..

And two Happy Trappers they leave tracks too , only their's are for us for me and for you ,
