LAKE IS STARTING TO FREEZE UP
Our lake is shaped like a figure eight and the narrows right in front of our cabin have started to freeze up. Last week we had 2 feet of snow fall and in the last day or so it has been -5c. Slush is 50 feet off the south shore. Narrows are approx 200 feet wide. Once narrows freezes up we will just have east end of lake until the west end freezes up also. Last year the lake was all covered with ice by November 13.

ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely spot there and I really hope young people will heed your advice and lay caim to more land in the north, just like you have!
It is wonderful now....but when we got here last spring 2007 it was a different story .....a story I will be telling soon. We have worked real hard here to make it look like is does now. When we are out and people ask what we do....after a few minutes they all say....I could live like that...Well they should plan to do it.
