A female Otter and 2 pups cruised by our dock at coffee this morning. There are lots of Otter here because the lake is so full of Trout and Salmon. We don't trap Otter because the price is so ridiculously low. Bryan brought in 15 more loads of gravel in to level the yard. Where he's digging looks like we're putting in a well. It's now 12' x 5' deep. He also found a Winchester 243 shell buried 1 1/2' deep in the gravel where he was digging. Shows how much the creek beside our place used to flood. I painted the new stairs and grouted some tile. Bryan brought in another cord of firewood and piled it into the wood shed. (We'll need 5 to 7 cords) By email I was able to organize the Beaver Bush Plane flights in for September. We need 7 barrels of fuel, propane, root vegetables etc. We hope to have all the flights in by Oct 4. Last year we encountered real bad fog and low clouds. The lake starts to freeze in Nov. and then in the middle of December the ice should be real thick...(last year 40")
There were 6 Goats behind on the Mtn. today.
