King Bolete Mushrooms.... great.
These Low Bush Blueberries are only 4 " high.
While Bryan is adding to the Meat Pole construction Vikki went Berry Gathering.
These are High Bush Blueberries, Currants, and a few Raspberries.
The first day we had a old Ravine come and talk to us. After we got our Moose he returned with two others. When we finally left the line cabin there was four more.
Now some people think of Ravines as pests but we really enjoy them. We have only these 7 in a really large area. Their job is to alert all the animals that something has happened and come and get some.
Ravines can live to be very old. Something like a Parrot.
Our pilot friend Chris flew by in his 207 and gave us a wave. Vikki had contacted him before we went on the hunt to tell him we would be up at the Line Cabin and would contact him on our return.
Bryan wanted to put the canoe into the little pond to mark Muskrat holes and so he started a paddle.
But we went over and we would have had to spend 4 hours clearing a trail to the Pond... Next years job.
Bryan used the winch on the quad and got the canoe up in the trees. Hopefully it will survive the snow load.

We were surprised to see you eating King Bolets. We always thought they were poisonous. Lots of them growing in my bush back in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog and how industrious you both are.
ReplyDeleteHope the anti trapping people do not post comments and cause you grief.
Was Bryan successful in his attempt to stop smoking
Wow, once again thanks for all the great photos and story. I learn a lot from you two as few today live and are so willing to share your adventures. Hope you enjoy every minute of it. Wish I was there!
ReplyDeleteBe safe and warm, winter is coming quick! :-)

Hi Karen... check your book again. Our book says they are good and we have had no problem eating them.
ReplyDeleteHi Nate.....We don't mind hearing for ever point of view. It is when there is disrespect and they try to wreck this Blog with malware. Bryan is 4 plus months without a cigs but he still really misses them. He finds he is warmer now... not so easily to get cold.
