PACKED AND OFF THEY WENT

"See you after three nights"... Bryan said and off he went with Ishi to set up a small pub tent down near the Inklin River and work on the wall tent floor so that all of us can go down for a week or so. Returning each night up the trail after a hard day of working, takes all the fun out of it.
If there is no presence on our land there are some people who think it is up for grabs (like our Northwest Passage). We trap in a remote area of Northern B.C., CANADA, 100 km from the nearest road. We fly in by Beaver Bush Plane and stay here for long periods of time. We are caretakers of the land and this is how we live.

Does the bear spray work?
ReplyDeleteBear Spray does work....we have never had to us it. Vikki carries one strapped onto her quad and one one her person. Bryan is always in front and he has a gun...which we've never had to use either on bear. Ishi is being taught to run 100 feet in front of the quad. She would be the early warning. BUT THE BIG THING IS WE ALWAYS HAVE NOISY STUFF BANGING ON THE QUAD WHICH WARNS ANIMALS WE ARE COMING. Right now the Bears are chasing the Salmon in the creeks heading to their spawning ground.
