BE SAFE.... I WANT YOU BACK.... AND OFF HE WENT

Bryan was only back at base camp a little more than 1 day.... his wrists were sore and aching... he's got Carpal tunnel syndrome.   But it's hard for him to relax.  At least when he had a cig he would stop for 10 minutes... Now it is just go go go.  Vikki knows he is pushing himself far too much but he just can not relax.
Also this Grizzly showing up so many times has Vikki worried.  Even with all the chainsaw noise this bear will show up 50 feet away.   3 hours after he left it started to pour rain....  he'll be back after 3 nights.

  1. Congrats to Bryan on giving up on the cigs. He'll feel better, be healthier and all your good food will taste better.

Enjoyed your comment re your dog sitting up Sphinx-like. More than once in wilderness ventures past I awoke ever time I heard a twig snap. A good dog would have helped me sleep.

It's interesting that the bears go after those thorny berries but they go after bee hives, too, somewhat unaffected by the stings. Solar electric fence with enticement to get them to bite is the key. I use empty tuna cans on the wire.

See if you can get Bryan to wear some kevlar chaps when running the saw. They're unpleasantly hot this time of the year but they are a life or limb saver.

  2. It is really hard for Bryan right now with the no smoking. He just can not relax... it is hard for Vikki to watch.
