Alone

There Vikki was watching the DeHavilland Beaver tip it's wing and then gone.  Bryan had flown out.  It was Vikki's suggestion, just one hour before the expected fuel flight was to come in.  "Why don't you go out for a week or so.  You can come back on the next fuel flight."  Bryan looked surprised...
"You just need to make sure I have enough generator gas in the 5 gal jugs."  Bryan asked " Is Henri still in Atlin?"  "Yes" Vikki said.  "Well, maybe I will.  We aren't heading out of here til late June."
It was the only way Vikki could think of so that Bryan would have a work break... the yard was stacked like a saw mill with 8 to 9 cords of large blocks of wood to be split. Both of us can't go out because of the 75 tomato plants in the cabin windows... (We are looking into a small propane thermostat heater for next year.)  There is a period of 6 weeks when we can not leave the yard.  The snow goes to mush and no skidoo, quad or foot walking is possible.  That is the only time Bryan gets really cabin bound.  This going out will be really good for him.
Today Vikki, Hannah and Ishi walked the length of the airstrip, although Hannah only made it 1/3 and sat by Vikki coat. Bee, our cat just walked to the end of the dock and sat there waiting.  Vikki had Bryan's 223 over her shoulder.  She could just hear the Wolves saying "Now... we can sure take that group."
