We made it to the Sutlahine River

We made it to the Sutlahine River yesterday. 24 km by skidoo trail and 2 hours to get home. Caught some nice Marten.

Hey, great Pine Marten. Did you catch them along the edge of the old burn or in the forest? Man that country looks good! I'm envious.

I found a blog with some interesting off grid power info. I know you two are considering some solar/wind gear to cut back on generator use. This guy seems a bit off the wall but he does present some good ideas. http://handybobsolar.wordpress.com/2009/07/22/solar-power-that-works/

Hi Evan..... Marten where got in the heavily forested areas. But we saw lots of sign in the burnt off area also, but it is too late to put out traps there as the Marten season ended today. Today we caught the biggest Lynx ...male 35 lbs... Thanks for the solar sight ....have it on my list to check into.

Hi Bryan&Vikki
The last Marten look good.Does trapping stop in the spring or are there species you can continue to trap? Is that your trail complete for this year? Take care :)Brian(:

The picture with the moon and the jet stream sure looks peaceful. My kind of world.

Hows the weather holding out for you guys? Here North East of Fort Nelson its getting real warm, everyone here is in the panic mode and getting ready to go on nite shift, lots of work to be done here yet and very little time to do it. How did you make out trapping this Winter, a lot of people around home figured their Marten catch was down, but a lot of wolves were snared.

hi steve...Bryan here. weather here 10 C above normal but snow conditions holding up good - still cold at nite. Our marten catch was about normal but they weren't where we usually find them. and you are right about the wolves and wolverines, they were realy travelling. I think the low snow and warm temp made the moose in better shape and harder to kill ... we've been seeing lots of moose and their in great shape.

Hi Brian... Bryan here. most of the fur bearers are closed now but we are looking forward to spring Beaver and Muskrat trapping. Here our trails are never finished.
