If there is no presence on our land there are some people who think it is up for grabs (like our Northwest Passage). We trap in a remote area of Northern B.C., CANADA, 100 km from the nearest road. We fly in by Beaver Bush Plane and stay here for long periods of time. We are caretakers of the land and this is how we live.

Many years ago we used to see Pintails and Wigeons in the Mississippi flyway but with all the draining of low lying areas the flyway is essentially gone. Even in the 1960's there were a lot of ducks but now they all travel via the Dakota's. Spring is an amazing time to watch the migrations.
