FINISHING THE LINE CABIN DAY 17 Photos by Henri

THE CABIN IS AS FINISHED AS IT WILL GET THIS YEAR.  THE SNOW IS GOING FAST HERE.  STILL THE WINDOW TO PUT IN , PLUS 2 MORE PIECES OF PLYWOOD, THEN A DOUBLE BUNK, A TABLE AND SOME CHAIRS....AND SOME SHELVES.
BUT A JOB WELL DONE!!!!!
ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE TRAVEL TIME ON THE SKIDOOS OF 476 KM FOR EACH PERSON OVER THE 17 DAYS.

ON THE WOOD STOVE ARE PANS OF GRAVELLY SAND TO LINE THE BOTTOM OF THE WOOD STOVE WITH.  BRYAN IS GETTING IT DRY .  THERE NEEDS TO BE 3" OF SAND OR GRAVEL ON THE BOTTOM OF THE WOOD STOVE BEFORE IT IS SAFE.

THE STOVE PIPE IS ALWAYS TAKEN DOWN BECAUSE WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET HERE AGAIN UNTIL THERE IS 5 TO 10 FEET OF SNOW NEXT WINTER.

  5. Well done trappers, the cabin looks great. It's amazing what can be made with a chainsaw and some ingenuity.

  6. Hi Gorges.. No we will not chink the joints. The snow load will keep the cants tight, and there is alittle insulation between the logs. This is a rough line cabin.
