Boarding the Beaver

The swamp opening is getting bigger and bigger.  Bryan pulled the sets after he caught one large male.  There are lots of willows here but with the amount of snow that is going to melt this spring, we don't think this Beaver damn will be able to hold the spring run off.  These Beavers damned the creek instead of a side pond.
When boarding the pelt don't stretch it out too tight.  You should be able to pull the hide up with your fist.
Bryan uses a glover needle with gut thread.
This meat is edible if you double boil the meat, throwing the water away each time and then fry it.

Canoe Skidooed

Over coffee we checked the five calenders to see when the lake went off.  Two years ago May 11, last year May 16.
It was decided that if the canoe was going to get up to the line cabin it has better get going.
Bryan took off a old handle from a home made skimmer that we found here.  He used U bolts and made it so that it would haul the canoe (that is not safe on this lake ...winds can come up to quickly and this canoe is really tippy).
He took it the 13 km without trouble.
It will work out well for muskrat trapping.

Tundra 300 Stopping the Vibration

Vikki kept on complaining about the vibration on the handlebars and down on the foot rests.  Our friend Henri (who you've seen out here) said he knew what to do because he used to own a
Motor cycle dealership is Switzerland.  He made up these lead weights for the end of Vikki's Tundra 300 and it stopped the vibrations.  You have to cut the ends out of the rubber handle grips.  A lead weight has to be formed to fit and drilled so that the long screw and hold it in place.  Works !!!!!!

Wolves and Beaver

Wolves are spring Beaver hunting also.
