A Moose died here and there is not a hair or a drop of blood left to say it was ever here. Just a well beaten 60 foot area with lots of wolf tracks leading to higher spots where they carryed their portion of the feed. They'll be jaw bones someplace near. On the Sutlahine we located 3 such sights within 1 1/2 km. Moose stay down around the rivers in the hope that they can reach open water if a pack of Wolves should find them.. In 3 or 4 feet of water the Wolves have a harder time. We saw lots of evidence of Wolves chasing Moose into the open water.

they certainly are an efficient hunting machine. at least they used all of the moose in this case. your previous post on the wolves put the hunt into perspective. i'm sure it would be scary yet facinating to witness that kind of predation.
Hi Ken.... there is a really good article in this months National Geographic about Wolves and their importance in the balance of Nature. It would be a sad world without them.
hoping you two are well.
It's been a while since your last posting....
Happy Easter!
