This poor Trumpetor has been collared or if not it has been attacked by a Golden Eagle. It has a 5" band at the bottom of it's neck that is bright red. we couldn't get any closer to see for sure.

Poor thing..was it able to eat okay?
Hello
Found your blog via the Explorenorth blog. I can't seem to find out how to email you so I am just writing here.
I am wondering what sort of satellite system you are using? I am going to be up Atlin way around Gladys Lake and would like to have some kind of contact with the outside world.
Just wondering the brand and if it is available in whitehorse?
By the way i really enjoy your blog. Lots of good pictures and reading. My wife and I are tossing the same idea ourselves. Maybe one day our paths will cross.
Thanks
Gregg
Hi That is the Chicken....we don't know. It is a jeuvenille pair. They are on the big part of the lake and so we have only seen them the one trip. Our lake is shaped like a fiqure 8 and we are on the narrows. I will try to see if they are still there tomorrow. It was very distressing.
