Long Legged Dark Grizzly

Hearing a loud snap we thought it was the old cow moose and her calf that we had just seen 100 ' behind the cabin.....but no, it was this long legged Dark Grizzly across the narrows from our cabin. An interesting side note....this same Griz walked the same route one year ago today. This year on may 18, last year may 19. We keep a calender with every animal and bird sighting so we can compare.

Beautiful shots of long-legs! It must be fascinating to keep the kind of records you are talking about and reveal the patterns of nature and the seasons like that.

Wow!
And are you saying you are leaving? How long?

We also hate going out.....but although I can order alot of supplies thru the internet we need to go to Whitehorse for two days of intense shopping, also eye appointments and that kind of thing. When Atlin Lake goes off the beginning of June the Beaver Pilot will come and get us. We will stay out for 2 to 3 weeks at the most. Our chickens and cats will be here on their own.
