We'd been watching a Black Bear and a Big Blonde tipped Grizzly on the Bear Mountain behind us. Now they were 300 yards apart and on the same altidude....the Grizz and Black unaware of each other, just busy eatting. As the Grizz got closer and closer, we watched ....thinking Holy S---. The Grizzly must have got wind of the Black, because off it went at a run towards where we had last seen the Black. We haven't seen either since. This was two days ago.

Ahhh, so exciting!
When i am out and about, i carry Bear spray, stay allert, (turn back when allerted:) common sense, and trust. Kind of. What do you do?
Fascinating to watch...I'm sure theose bears are all hungry now they're waking up. Is there much for them to eat yet?
OMG! How I wish I was there to watch things like that!
Hello Jozien. We carry Bear Spray and also a 30-06 Rifle. We hope to never use it and it gives one confidence. We also usually are using a chainsaw and making lots of noise. But they are always around. We are very careful. When I walk the little circle trail behind our cabin I take a big cow bell and swing it loudly. Then at least Bryan knows I am still moving. The undergrowth is so heavy here ...the devils club is 6 to 8 ft tall here. The bears use our trails to get around.
Hi That is the chicken....they are all travelling to the Bear Mountain behind us. Grass is showing there and the populars are just starting to bud out. We see 2 to 3 Bear a day. Today a Griz was across the narrows from our cabin. Heading to the Bear Mountain. We will see it there tomorrow.
Hi fireweedroots....We always plan to fly out the end of trapping season but we would miss this special month when everything is coming back. All the ducks are right in front of us on the only open water on the lake and all the animals are walking the shore because the bush is just impossible at this time of year.
